A recent arrival at my workshop, the backlights were working but the picture had a lot of shading on the right hand side and bottom of the screen. It seemed there were a few LED’s out…as it happened there were only five of the eighteen LED’s actually working. On inspection one LED had burned up completely and the other twelve had probably died of shock at the same time. They were all short circuit and it was a miracle the LED driver had not shut down the whole backlight circuit. Anyway, the repair didn’t go ahead because of the cost of having to replace all three strips, it was rebuilt and (as requested) returned to the customer in it’s faulty state!

This LED died a nasty death!

Hence the dull picture!
